I’m not sure why this is, but I’ve only just started to speak Spanish. Most of the time if I’m speaking to someone in Spanish, I can understand them, but I can’t always pick up on their intentions. This is why I find myself making jokes, sometimes in Spanish, sometimes not. I’m not afraid to be a smart ass, though.
The language barrier is one of the main reasons that some Spanish speakers feel like they can’t communicate with other people in Spanish. But, as our Spanish translator told us, the language barrier is also the reason that we don’t have to make the effort.
Spanish is a language that often makes you feel dumb when you talk to someone, so it’s good to know that there is a way to make things awkward and awkward to be made.
