How the calculation flows
Leverage lets a small amount of margin control a larger position, which magnifies both gains and losses. Enter your position size and leverage to see the margin required, and add an entry price and maintenance margin to estimate how far price can move against you before liquidation. It uses a simplified isolated-margin model that ignores funding and fees, so always confirm the real figures on your exchange.
FAQ
How is required margin calculated?
It is the position size divided by the leverage, so ten times leverage on a $10,000 position needs $1,000 of margin.
Is the liquidation distance exact?
No. It is a rough isolated-margin estimate; funding, fees and cross-margin balances all shift the real liquidation point.
